The Top 10 Most Famous People With the Last Name of Jones

For the past year I’ve been compiling famous people to list on my name numerology website.  These are all noted individuals, but who are the most famous?  Today let’s count down the most famous people with the last name of Jones.

The most famous people (based on online chatter) with the surname Jones are:

10. Howard Jones – Musician (No One Is to Blame, Things Can Only Get Better)

9. Terry Jones – Comedian Writer Director and Monty Python member

8. George Jones – Country music singer (White Lightning, He Stopped Loving Her Today)

7. Bridget Jones – Character in “Bridget Jones” Novels and Movies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason)

6. Quincy Jones – Musician and Producer (Thriller, We Are the World)

5. Jim Jones – Rap Musician (On My Way to Church)

4. Edward Jones – Founder of Edward Jones Investments

3. Norah Jones – Musician (Come Away with Me, Feels Like Home)

2. Alex Jones – Radio host of syndicated program The Alex Jones Show

…and the most famous Jones is…

1. Tom Jones – Singer (What’s New Pussycat?, She’s a Lady, It’s Not Unusual)

Not making the top ten list were Star Jones – Television Host (The View), Chuck Jones – animator and director who worked on Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner, Rashida Jones – Actress (Boston Public, The Office, Parks and Recreation), Shirley Jones – Actress (The Partridge Family), Davy Jones – Davy Jones is a nickname for the god of the oceans and seas, Coraline Jones – Character from the book / movie Coraline, Samantha Jones – Character on the TV series Sex in the City, Davy Jones – Musician and member of the Monkeys, January Jones – Actress (Mad Men, American Pie), Jim Jones – Cult leader of the Peoples Temple, Julia Jones – Actress (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), and Jughead Jones – Character from Archie Comics.

This top ten list was really dominated by musicians, with only non-musicians Terry, Bridget, Edward, and Alex making it into the top 10.  Amazingly, unless you count Terry (who is more of a comedian and writer than an actor) no actors made it into the top 10.  Alex (the Radio host) did astoundingly well.  Clearly Alex has a great online following.

There are two duplicate names on this list.  Jim Jones was a cult leader in the 1970s, but is also the name of a modern day rapper.  Davy Jones was a member of the musical gourp the Monkees, but Davy Jones is also the name of the god of the seas – as in the phrase “Davy Jones’ Locker” to mean things lost to the sea.

I compiled this list by searching for each of the Jones on a number of search engines and ranking them by the number of web pages, discussion forums, photos, videos, etc that are available online. Get complete Numerology for the name Jones at www.NameNum.com.
